2003 White River Trail Run
June
7th is quickly approaching and on this day the 2003 White River
Trail Run will take place. The 2003 10K
course is the same as 2002 beginning at the
We
have a great group of sponsors and have added some new ones this year. Without our sponsors, the White River Trail
Run would not be as successful.
Please
support our sponsors as they have supported us.
They include:
We
are still in need of volunteers, so please contact Tommy Goodson if you would
like to help. Check out the club web
site for a printable version of the entry form and a course map. www.andersonroadrunners.org.
Notes for the present…
Thursday Night One Lap Races will begin May 08th
and end September 25th. No race will be held on July 03rd. The adult season fee is $15.00 or 2.00 per
race. The student fee, students under age 19, is $5.00 or $1.00 per race. A
minimum of 10 races must be ran/walked and you must be a member of the Anderson
Road Runners Club to be eligible for awards. Complete details can be found on
the Anderson Road Runners website.
Once again the officers and race directors are asking for your help in making this year a success by volunteering a small amount of your time or money to one event or area of the club that is of special interest to you. The Anderson Road Runners Club sponsors two races, the White River Trail Run and Run the Mounds, Volunteers are always needed before, during and after the race.
Our Thursday 1-Lap Race can always use help with the scoring and weekly sponsors. The One Mile Children’s Fun Run need adults to help supervise and run with the children, as well as, lending a hand with awards, snacks and year-end party. Sponsors go along way to help any of the above functions. Again, we are only as good as our volunteers. The past has provided us many good volunteers, let’s keep up the good work and volunteer our time or money early.
Speaking of volunteers, we have great
volunteer support from our members in other areas of the running community.
Welcome to our newest members: Wray Jean Cornwell, Marty and Renessa Dulworth, Lisa Lutz, Alicia McElroy, David and Kathie Nichols, and Andy Prieshoff
Happy Birthday to: Greg Chiles, Wray

The
Anderson Road Runners Club is a club that is comprised of short distance, long
distance, ultra distance, trail, road, older,
and younger runners. We have
watched Duane Allen, Scott Walschlager,
Bud Stiffler, The Marathon Boys (Louie Harshman, Tony Martin, Lonnie Smith,
Terry Spoo and Jack Stepp), Bob Williams, Kelly O’Connor, Patricia Hart, Kyle Baker
and Brock Hagerman do some impressive running.
Our latest member to keep our eyes on (and
with his speed that might be difficult) is Cole Hardacre. Cole is in the eighth
grade at
In a short conversation with Bill Baker, before the first points race, he informed me that Kyle is in fine shape and continuing to heal from an injury earlier this year. Kyle will be competing for the first time this month since being sidelined.

thanks to Jennifer Bridges, Jenny and Jen (yes, that's their names) for working
so hard and DONATING their massage services at the ARRC tent after the Indy
Mini. Jennifer and her associates will
be back for WRTR and Run the Mounds. She
also is a perennial Thursday night sponsor and terrific supporter of the club. Need a Father's Day gift or birthday gift --
a massage certificate would work for me-- and those who have everything -
including sore muscles.
Trivia From the trail…Which Anderson Road Runner member has had three daughters to compete in the Thursday Night One Lap Race Series? For correct answer ask Karen Taylor Smith.
